The King of Malaysia Muhammad V abdicates

The King of Malaysia, Muhammad V, has abdicated according to a statement from the court. The message came after the regent was on leave for two months. At the same time, rumors have flourished that he married a Russian former beauty queen in Moscow.



"The National Palace informs that his majesty has renounced the mission of the fifteenth king from January 6," it said in a press release from the Royal Palace.

Sultan Muhammad V took over as regent for Malaysia two years ago.
